Many Hands Make... A Healthy Lunch!
Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK) is a local charity that makes and delivers school lunches for approximately 4,400 kids each day. Food is available to any child who arrives at school with an empty tummy.
ConocoPhillips Canada (CPC) is a long-time supporter of BB4CK, through employee volunteer hours and financial support. Throughout the year, teams of CPC volunteers spend a morning assembling lunches for the kids. On June 4, our volunteers came together and made 1,307 lunches!
“I consistently hear from staff that they find making lunches for BB4CK really rewarding,” says Shelley Forbes, CPC’s community investment coordinator. “It only takes a few hours and the results are so tangible.”
On June 12, we were delighted to receive a note from Charmaine Lyon, BB4CK’s fund development specialist. The note thanked each CPC volunteer for their efforts and enthusiasm and came with this very special video. Thank you to Charmaine and the team at Brown Bagging for making our day!
