Our employee volunteers are the driving force behind our community investment initiatives. It’s their dedication that allows us to continue supporting community organizations and realize our goals of enriching lives and strengthening communities. In 2013, more than 30,000 hours were committed to our community by CPC volunteers.
The volunteer programs we actively support include:
- Bring Your Grade 9 to Work

- Calgary Educational Partnership Foundation
- Calgary Commuter Challenge
- Connaught School (Calgary)
- Operation Minerva - Women in Science
- Project Warmth
- Sherwood School
- Rocky Mountain Safety Day
- Run for the Cure
- STARS Air Ambulance
- Senior’s Secret Service Society
- United Way of Calgary and Area
- Various Community runs and walks
The Employee Matching Gift Program matches staff charitable donations, from $50 to $15,000, to Canadian Registered Charities, Canadian Municipalities and accredited Canadian post-secondary institutions. This means our employees will have funds going to charities they are most passionate about. Since its launch in 2012, ConocoPhillips Canada has matched over $300,000 in donations.
Many local community organizations benefit from the time, energy and expertise donated by our employees, but a little money never hurts. Any permanent employees (or their partners) who actively contribute to a non-profit organization can apply to have ConocoPhillips Canada donate up to $500 a year to that organization on behalf of the employee. Qualifying organizations are those that provide benefits to others in the community.
This fund supports non-profit sports teams, community organizations, schools and charities where are employees are most involved. Over $100,000 annually contributed to the community through this fund.
We sponsor an annual United Way campaign that includes staff volunteer opportunities, awareness-building events, and fundraising events. Our employees have the option to donate funds to the United Way, or to direct funds to another registered Canadian charity of their choosing through the United Way by using its pledge form. ConocoPhillips Canada matches the dollar amount of the employee’s contribution.
