Russ Litun is senior vice president in charge of the ConocoPhillips Canada Western Canada Business Unit. He has been in this role since June 2012.
Before his current role, Litun was vice president of ConocoPhillips Canada’s Western Canada Business Unit Production Operations team. In this position, he led the development and implementation of an integrated operations philosophy, which resulted in significant advances in safety performance, direct operating efficiency and lease operating expenses. Litun is an active participant in ConocoPhillips’ operations and execution excellence efforts, striving for a greater level of collaboration and knowledge sharing across the company’s global business units.
With over 30 years of oil and gas experience, Litun began his career in facilities engineering and construction, first with Petro-Canada in 1981. In 1989, he joined Canadian Hunter and advanced to lead their Production Operations team, a position he would maintain through Canadian Hunter’s acquisition by Burlington Resources in 2001 and then by ConocoPhillips in 2006.
Litun graduated with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1981.
