Lorne Gould is vice president, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) for ConocoPhillips Canada.

Lorne Gould headshotA lifelong Albertan, he has more than 36 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Gould began his career as a roustabout for Amoco Canada at their Chinchaga Gas & Liquids play in northwest Alberta.

He joined ConocoPhillips in 2000 as a production supervisor, spending eight years in the former Western Canada Business Unit, predominately as a senior production foreman and HSE team lead.

Gould transferred to Surmont in 2008 where he spent 13 years supporting the business in several roles, including as Operations superintendent, Maintenance superintendent, HSE manager, and startup superintendent leading a team preparing for and ultimately starting up Surmont Phase 2.

Most recently, he was manager, Montney Operations, with responsibility for the company’s unconventional asset in the Montney play in Fort St. John, BC. During this time, the organization completed the construction and startup of several new well pads and the large phase expansion, CPF 2 at the C-11-K facility.

Gould completed a certification in Safety, Health and Environment Affairs in 1994 and his 4th Class Power Engineering in 2003, both through SAIT. He also holds technical certifications in Gas Plant, Field and Pipeline Operations from Lakeland College.
