Khoa Dao is vice president, Development, for ConocoPhillips Canada, responsible for asset development as well as the Subsurface, Land, and Business Development functions.
Dao joined ConocoPhillips in 1991 as an engineer in Lake Charles, Louisiana. With more than 25 years of oil and gas experience, Dao has progressed through various engineering, commercial operations and business development roles within ConocoPhillips' Midstream, Upstream and Global Power divisions.
In 2001, Dao was assigned as the manager of Business Development and Government Affairs, where he helped establish ConocoPhillips as a major producer in Vietnam. In 2004, he transferred to Indonesia as asset manager, Onshore Corridor Block, to lead the development of ConocoPhillips' onshore gas assets, and in 2008, became the asset manager of Offshore Block B.
In 2010, Dao transferred to Houston, Texas to join the Corporate Strategy and Portfolio Management group as manager, Corporate Authorization and Performance. In 2013, he was named development manager for ConocoPhillips' Niobrara asset, where he led an appraisal program to test a new unconventional resource play.
In 2015, Dao was appointed asset manager, Panhandle, Anadarko and Barnett, before taking on his current role in 2017.
Dao earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1991.
