The Montney is an unconventional resource play located in northeastern British Columbia.  

At Montney, ConocoPhillips has established a major position in a liquids-rich unconventional development play. During 2023, the company progressed its development activities and completed construction on the second phase of its processing facility, which started up in the third quarter of 2023. 

Exploration and appraisal activities in the area began in 2009.  

In 2021: 

• Three new horizontal wells were drilled 
• Three additional wells were completed 
• 12 wells were brought on-stream 
• Production from the play was 25 MBOED
