Community Investment Safety Programs

As part of the ConocoPhillips commitment to safety Community Investment looks for programs that will help protect the health and safety of everybody who plays a part in our operations and lives in the communities in which we operate. ConocoPhillips is pleased to be able to direct approximately 50 percent of contributions to education programs.

STARS air ambulance

The Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) is a non-profit charitable organization that began operating in 1985 and is dedicated to the safe, rapid, highly specialized emergency medical transport system for the critically ill and injured.

Capable of servicing communities within a 250-kilometre radius of Calgary, Edmonton and Grande Prairie, STARS helicopters can fly in and perform rescues in approximately 90% of Alberta and many communities in southeastern British Columbia. This means STARS helicopters can fly in many of the ConocoPhillips operating areas.

Currently, three STARS helicopter tail fins showcase the ConocoPhillips name. To find out more about STARS click here.

Alberta Farm Safety Centre DVD

The new Farm Safety DVD is part of a province-wide program and an addition to the Safety Smarts program. The DVD is school-based and teaches rural children in grades one to six about safety by showing actual working situations on a variety of farming operations in the province and was narrated by local youth. Keeping rural children, their families and their communities safe and healthy is the centre focus and motivation of this program and video. The video is produced from working farms in Alberta and addresses the everyday issues and challenges of farm families. For more information click here.
