At ConocoPhillips we’re always looking for ways we can reduce our environmental impact and improve our performance.

Picture endless fields of grasslands, gentle hills and clear lakes filled with ducks and other waterfowl. If you're not imagining southeastern Alberta, you should be. And thanks to a ConocoPhillips donation to Ducks Unlimited Canada, more than 2,050 acres of this priceless landscape near Cypress Hills, Alberta will be preserved forever in the ConocoPhillips Bullshead Conservation Area.

Bullshead is a conservation area which includes native grasslands, and high-value wildlife and plant species, including large numbers of waterfowl. It is also home to approximately 80 percent of Alberta’s species at risk. Protecting this land means protecting important habitat features that many of these species need to survive.

"There are so many positives that can come out of this project," says Scott Grindal, Environmental Coordinator, ConocoPhillips Canada. "Working with groups like Ducks Unlimited, we can continue to use the land for sustainable practices such as cattle grazing, while also preserving the beauty and value of this important conservation area."
