Community Investment Environmental Programs
Because ConocoPhillips is committed to protecting the environment we have implemented policies and procedures to help create sustainable ecosystems, protect wildlife habitats, minimize the impact of our operations and improve the communities in which we operate to ensure a sustainable environment for the future. In addition to following strict environmental regulations, the company works with local communities to meet their specific environmental needs.
ConocoPhillips Canada's School Environmental Challenge
ConocoPhillips Canada’s School Environmental Challenge which began in 2007, is just one of the ways we support education and environment in the Canadian communities where our employees work and live. The annual challenge enables schools to create environmental activities and programs, while enhancing existing ones. In the 2008/09 school year 19 schools were funded $1,000 each to help the students and staff implement educational conservation activities. Each year the schools activities and successes can be published in a booklet that is distributed to schools and communities to encourage idea sharing.
