Community Investment Education Programs

ConocoPhillips believes that the best way to prepare a community for its future is to equip its youth with practical skills to help them achieve their full potential, which is why nearly half of our annual contributions are directed toward education and youth programs. By supporting these programs where we work and live, we help communities strengthen their economic base and train their future workforce.

Post Secondary Education Initiatives
ConocoPhillips Canada partners with many Western Canadian post-secondary institutions to provide youth with practical skills to help them achieve their full potential.

Centennial Scholarships
The Centennial Scholarship Program was developed to support young Canadian visionaries who have a drive to make a difference in the future. The scholarship program encourages individuals with academic excellence and demonstrated leadership.

The Scholarships program is made up of eight scholarships of up to $10,000 each, one new each year and one renewable. Six scholarships are offered to students in Western Canada through a nomination process in the studies of Petroleum, Sustainable Development/Environment and an open category. These scholarships are managed by the Association of Universities and Colleges. Two of the scholarships are awarded to children of employees, managed by an independent consultant, and the final applicant is chosen (anonymously) by a CPC committee.

For more information regarding the open scholarships, go to www.aucc.ca.

Trade Bursary Program
The ConocoPhillips Trade Bursary Program annually awards ten trade students with up to $2,500 toward tuition, books and living expenses. This program, created in 2006, is open to high school graduates (18 years of age and over) who attended schools located in the ConocoPhillips Canada areas of operation and who are accepted into a trade program. The Trade Bursary Program was created in response to a demand for trade workers and to support the unique needs of trade students. Click here for the online application.
