Our community investment in the oil sands is wide-ranging, supporting corporate values and priorities of safety, education, health, youth and cultural preservation.

In 2007 investments exceeded $900,000. This included contributions to a new MRI at the regional hospital in Fort McMurray, participation on the organizing committees of numerous community events and festivals, annual funding for a bed at Unity House, a homeless shelter, funding and volunteer time to support Victims Services and a major contribution to the Fort McMurray Food Bank. We also organized a softball tournament for youth from the communities along Secondary Highway 881.

Going forward, our community investment will continue to be strategic and grounded in community and regional needs. It will be focused on making a difference for the generations ahead. This will be an area of more specific reporting in future reports.
